Early Years Practitioner
Location: Bingley, Keighley and surrounding areas
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
Pay Rate: £95–£115 per day
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS required or willingness to obtain one
About the Role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Practitioner, to work in a range of nursery and early years settings in and around Bingley and Keighley.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children’s development, helping them build confidence and creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where they can learn and thrive.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting children’s early learning, development and wellbeing, working closely with other practitioners to deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support for children in an early years setting.
- Plan and support fun, engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
- Promote children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.
- Help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
- Support children’s personal care routines, including feeding, toileting and hygiene where required.
- Observe children’s progress and contribute to their learning and development records.
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence and social interaction.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the setting.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and comply with health and safety requirements at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in an early years, nursery or childcare setting.
- A caring, patient and positive approach to working with young children.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Reliability, flexibility and a professional attitude.
Relevant Early Years qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare, would be advantageous.
