Are you an experienced and passionate Science Teacher ready to take the next step in your career? Best In Class is seeking an inspiring Head of Science to lead and develop a dynamic department in a thriving school. This is a supply role starting January 2024, running until Easter, with the potential to extend or even go permanent with the school.

The Role:
As the Head of Science, you will:
  • Lead and Manage the Science Department: Oversee curriculum planning, teaching quality, and departmental development to ensure outstanding outcomes.
  • Inspire and Support Staff: Provide leadership and mentorship to a dedicated team of Science teachers, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Deliver Excellence in Teaching: Model high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (KS5 experience is highly desirable).
  • Drive Student Achievement: Champion innovative approaches to engage students and raise attainment in Science.
  • Contribute to Whole-School Leadership: Work closely with senior leadership to align the Science department’s goals with the school’s vision.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven Experience: A track record of excellence in teaching Science and leading teams, ideally with middle or senior leadership experience.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, with a degree in a Science-related discipline.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop staff and students alike.
  • Passion for Science Education: A commitment to making Science engaging, accessible, and relevant to all students.
