Are you a Computer Science Teacher looking for your next role within a respectable secondary school? We are working alongside an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school based in the heart of Mirfield, WF14. The school are looking or the successful candidate to be dynamic, inspiring and forward thinking in order to provide new approaches to teaching across the IT department. You will empower students to explore the exciting world of computer science, develop essential computational thinking skills, and prepare for future careers in technology and STEM fields. The future of our children is in the hearts of technology with vast changes being made to change the way we work, think and do things in adult life therefore, computer science is a highly aspirational department. You will plan engaging lessons, incorporating both theoretical concepts and practical applications. It is expected that you will teach a range of topics within the computer science curriculum, including programming languages, algorithms, data structures, cybersecurity and emerging technologies. The school are looking for a candidate who is proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ and will have familiarity with relevant software tools and platforms.
The school received a ‘Good’ rating during their Ofsted rating in all four areas back in 2020, with highlight to the rapid improvements that have been made since their last visit. They take pride in having heavy involvement with the Hub that supports families within the community; allowing them to use the school facilities to host groups for the community to make use of. The ideal candidate will:
- Have proven experience teaching computer science with a track record of high level grades for their students
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Proficient in a range of software and technology
The successful candidate must have:
- UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE or SCITT, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous relevant experience
- An enhanced DBS that is registered to the update service
- Two suitable teaching references covering the past two years
- Right to work in the U.K
