Best In Class are looking for qualified English Teachers for various Secondary Schools across Bradford. The Schools we are working closely alongside are located in BD8, BD10, BD22, BD16; if any of these locations are local to where you are living or somewhere that you would be happy to travel to, we would be keen to speak to you about these roles.

We are looking to appoint an English Teacher who is passionate, dedicated, and motivational to inspire and educate students across KS3 and 4. You will have a passion for teaching the subject of English Language and Literature, showcasing the beauty of English literature and instilling enthusiasm in students to enjoy reading, writing and thinking inquisitively. As an experienced English Teacher, you will understand your generic roles and responsibilities both inside and outside of the classroom in supporting students across all year groups. Planning and delivering lessons that are interactive and stimulating to students of different age groups will allow them to make continual progress within this core subject and maintain the high levels of grades that they are capable of achieving. Having confidence in your students will highlight all the positive attributes that they have, allowing them to have confidence in their own abilities whilst, ensuring they feel comfortable to come to you when they require additional support. As an enthusiast for all things English Literature and Language, you will have incredible subject knowledge of all areas of learning which will flow into your teaching effortlessly. Implementing effective teaching strategies will allow you to reach each students specific learning needs by teaching in a manner that will help allow them to progress throughout their learning journey through school and beyond into adult life. You will encourage students to develop all areas of their self-development, building on skills that they already have and formulating new skills that they were unaware they could carry out. It is expected throughout school that students will be set weekly homework tasks to solidify their learning outside of the classroom, getting them into good habits of researching about topics in their own time and revising important themes of learning ready for their exams. You will provide constructive and positive feedback to students on a weekly basis so that they know the areas that they can improve on; this will also allow you to track students learning and feed this back to the Head of Department and senior members of staff who can look at progress collectively across the year groups. It is expected that you will take charge of your own continual professional development with opportunities from the school to do this; you will stay on top of educational trends and participate in activities set out to enhance your skills as a teacher.

  • Uphold the school’s commitment to high expectations and continuous improvement across the English department
  • Use a variety of assessment methods to track student progress and provide constuctive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop a cohersive and enriching English curriculum

The successful candidate must have:

  • UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE or SCITT, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous relevant experience
  • An enhanced DBS that is registered to the update service
  • Two suitable teaching references covering the past two years
  • Right to work in the U.K
