Best In Class is supporting a friendly and ambition secondary school in Skipton in their search for an inspiring English Teacher to join them from January until July. The school is proud of its strong ethos and is looking for a teacher who can contribute positively to the life of the English department and the wider school community.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will deliver thoughtful and engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students to develop a love of reading, confidence in writing and an appreciation of language. You will play an important role in guiding pupils towards meeting the academic targets and preparing older students for key assessments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Teaching English Language and Literature in line with the school’s curriculum
• Supporting learners of all abilities and adapting teaching strategies where needed.
• Marking work, tracking progress and providing clear, constructive feedback.
• Getting involved in departmental initiatives, such as reading programmes or themed events.

What the School is Looking For:

• A Qualified English Teacher (QTS or equivalent).
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for English.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update service or a willingness to obtain one.
