  • Support students with challenging behaviour, learning difficulties, or emotional needs by creating a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral and support staff to develop individual learning plans for each student.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
  • Track and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and working closely with colleagues to ensure effective learning.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for each learner.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects (History, Geography, RE) at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students with a range of needs.
  • Empathy, resilience, and a positive attitude to supporting students who may present challenging behaviours.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in alternative education settings such as PRUs or with students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Knowledge of restorative approaches to behaviour management.
  • A flexible and creative approach to teaching, adapting lessons to suit students with varying abilities and needs.

Why Join Best In Class?

  • Be part of a supportive and agency dedicated to excellence in education.
  • Benefit from opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • Join a dynamic and collaborative agency that values creativity and innovation in teaching.
