PMLD SEN Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated PMLD SEN Assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties in a specialist school in Bradford. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs.

Requirements:

• A clean, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Minimum 6 months experience working in UK education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with PMLD.
• Assisting with personal care, including feeding, toileting and hygiene needs.
• Supporting pupils with physical disabilities, including the use of hoists and specialist equipment (training provided if necessary).
• Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Encouraging communication and engagement through sensory activities and adapted learning resources.
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress and reporting to the class teacher.

This role requires patience, empathy and resilience. Experience in a SEN setting in highly desirable and training will be provided for specific needs and equipment.
