Best In Class is an education recruitment agency based in Bradford and Leeds working with local Primary and Secondary schools across both areas. We have an exciting job opportunity available based in LS16 for an experienced and dedicated School Administrator to join the team within the front office. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in administrative roles within educational settings and possess excellent organisational and communication skills. The school is located on the outskirts of Leeds City Centre therefore, applying candidates who are using public or personal transport will find it easy to access the school. The role is a full time position to start as soon as possible, with working hours of 8am-2pm.

The successful candidate for this role will understand their roles and responsibilities in order to carry out their role thoroughly and effectively. You will provide administrative support to the school staff, including the Headteacher, teachers and other personnel. Within this role, you will manage students records, including attendance, admissions and withdrawals; this will in turn mean that you have to contact parents/guardians to identify reasons behind attendance so that this can be monitored further. With this role, you will be sat on the front desk therefore, you will meet and greet all visitors into the school, ensuring that those entering the school grounds have identification and understand the policies and procedures in place to keep them safe whilst on site. Assisting in organising school events, meetings and appointments will also be a vital part of your role as an Administrator; it is important that you cover all areas of planning these events so that everything can be smooth sailing for students and other staff members. Other administrative duties, will include managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintaining office supplies and ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures. Within this role, you will be dealing with confidential information therefore handling this with discretion and following the correct policies and procedures relating to GDPR will be crucial.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience within an administrative role in an Education environment
  • Be outgoing, confident and a positive asset to the current Admin team
  • Be highly organised with the ability to prioritise important tasks
  • Manage confidential information with sensitivity, following relevant policies and procedures

The successful candidate must have:

  • Grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths
  • Level 2 or above in Administration/Business Administration
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Admin software
  • An enhanced DBS that is registered to the update service
  • Two suitable teaching references covering the past two years
  • Right to work in the U.K
