At Best In Class, we are looking for an experienced SEMH Support Assistant to work in a Bradford Primary School in Keighley, BD21.

The School is looking for a passionate practitioner who is flexible and passionate about supporting children  with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

As a SEMH Support Assistant you will provide essential support to a small group of children who have  additional needs in relation to their emotional and social needs. Your role will be to ensure that all children can thrive within this inclusive environment.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide small group or 1:1 support to children with SEMH
  • Assist students with academic tasks, helping to reinforce learning objectives and adapt materials to suit individual learning styles
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to parents and teachers
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers and the SENCO  to implement individual education plans
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected
  • Encourage the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive behaviour and self-esteem
  • It is important to evidence an understanding and knowledge of the needs of children with SEMH and what they need to feel secure and supported.


For this role, you will also need: 
– Qualifications relating to the role, ideally Level 2 or above
– GCSE grade Maths, English and Science
– An enhanced DBS that is registered to the update service
– Two suitable references covering the past two years
– Right to work in the UK
