SEN Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: £93–£100 per day
About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the BD16 area of Bradford. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential.
The successful candidate must have previous experience supporting children with SEN and be comfortable providing personal care where required, ensuring pupils’ dignity, wellbeing, and individual needs are always prioritised.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist pupils with their learning, communication, social, and emotional development.
- Deliver tailored interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Support pupils with personal care, including toileting and hygiene, where required.
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
- Promote positive behaviour and implement individual support plans.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents where appropriate.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a school or similar setting.
- Comfortable providing personal care as part of the role.
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
