At Best In Class, we are looking for an experienced SEND Support Assistant to work in a Bradford Primary School in BD5.

The School is looking for a passionate practitioner who is flexible and who can adapt to support diverse a additional needs. The successful candidate will be resilient, compassionate and will display a positive attitude. As a SEND Support Assistant you will provide essential support to a small group of children who have special educational needs. Your role will be to ensure that all children have equal access to learning opportunities and thrive within this inclusive environment.

Your roles and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provide small group or 1:1 support to children with special educational needs.
  • Assist students with academic tasks, helping to reinforce learning objectives and adapt materials to suit individual learning styles. This may involve scaffolding activities to meet their level of needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to parents and teachers.
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individual education plans.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Encourage the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive behaviour and self-esteem, this may include supporting children with managing and creating friendships as well as creating boundaries.
  • Following all safeguarding and child protection procedures.


To be successful in this role, it is vital that you have experience with children within an educational setting. As a SEND Support Assistant, you will be able to build professional relationships with parents and carers and be able to feed back daily on progress of needs. It is important to evidence an understanding around Special Educational Needs and how learning may look different for children with varied need and ability, therefore you must be open and flexible to change and varied responsibility when needed.



For this role you will also need:

  • Qualifications relating to the role, ideally Level 2 or above.
  • GCSE grade Maths, English and Science.
  • An enhanced DBS that is registered to the update service.
  • Two suitable references covering the past two years.
  • Right to work in the UK.
