Have you got experience of working with children within an Educational or Coaching setting? Do you have a passion for supporting children and their learning?

Best in Class are working with Primary schools across Leeds who are looking to add a Teaching Assistant to their team on an ad-hoc basis. The role of Teaching Assistant will involve providing support to KS1 and KS2 pupils who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning, this may be due to various needs such as SEN/SEMH or generally require further support within the classroom. This role will commence as soon as possible. It is important that you are proactive in building relationships with these pupils and liaise with the Class Teacher to provide best outcomes.

As a Teaching Assistant, your specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Encourage the inclusion of pupils by using positive behaviour management techniques and targeted resources to engage them into their learning.
  • Provide specific support to students dependent upon their individual needs and implement strategies to support them with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Model, within class, supportive strategies that will encourage and develop appropriate learning styles and behaviour in a variety of settings i.e with individuals and group/whole class.
  • Model group-based activities that will develop this pupil’s problem-solving, listening and social skills
