This weeks ‘Meet the Team’ is our super talented, wickedly creative, and limitlessly wonderful Natalie Harrison! Since we started these interviews way back when with Sophie, Natalie has since joined our team and I can’t believe that it’s only been a few weeks and it seems like she’s never not been here with us! She joins us Monday, Thursday and Friday and genuinely leaves a huge gap on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when we count down the hours until she comes back.

Natalie is our Candidate Resourcer, and so she’s our first point of contact reaching out to talk to our candidates and tell them about the many (many, many, many) reasons why working with Best in Class is such a good idea (and I mean a really, really good idea). She’s so easy to talk to and won’t hesitate for a second if she can help someone, and we’re very lucky to have her!

But since Natalie’s job is focused on our candidates and getting to know them, and the kinds of job roles that they’re looking for, it leaves little room for Natalie’s star of a personality to shine through! So I bugged Natalie by texting her on her day off to ask her some of the burning questions that we all want to know…

What’s one interesting fact that you love?

An interesting fact that I love is that crocodiles physically cannot stick their tongues out. I don’t know why I think it’s so funny, but I do!

What has been your favourite holiday?

My favourite holiday is a little staycation in Bridlington. Because it’s where we had our childhood holidays, I have so many amazing memories there! My favourite memory of going to Bridlington is being with my family down on the beach for the majority of the summer holidays. My Nana and Popops had a favourite ice cream shop that we went to, which was Natarianni’s. We still visit it now to reminisce on the times we had there! We took my son Carter there when he was a few months old but we’re going to take him again this summer and I’m so excited for him to be able to play on the beach and do everything that I did as a child. He’ll be able to enjoy it more now that he’s older too, and I can’t wait to share the same memories with him!

If you could live in any film or TV show universe, which universe would it be?

I think I would have to live in the TV show Friends, which has always been one of my favourite TV series! It’s forever been such a comfort show for me, and I just love how they’re all always there for each other. It sort of reminds me of the team at Best in Class to be honest, all the cast of Friends are different but they bring out the best sides of each other, and have each other’s backs through everything. They’re always laughing and having fun and I feel like we do that too for each other!

I also like how each cast member brings to light different things in life. Monica struggles to get pregnant, Rachel is a single mum and Phoebe ends up being a surrogate for her brother and partner. I just feel like it’s a way to subtly show how different for different people and I really like that!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you bring?

If I was stranded on a desert island, I think I would bring a blanket, a picture of my family and a knife. I originally said I would take a cup instead of a knife, but I thought about it long and hard in bed last night and realised a knife would be much more help! You can never overthink desert island survival.

What is the best piece of advice that you could give?

The best piece of advice that I could give to someone would be to live in the moment, and take as many pictures of everything and everyone you love, as you can! You never know what’s around the corner, and having those memories there are what you and people around you will cherish forever!

What’s your favourite thing about Best in Class?

My favourite thing about Best in Class is how well the team operates together! We are all so different but in similar ways, and I love everyone for who they are. It’s an open environment where we can just completely be ourselves without any judgement.

What’s a weird food combination that you really enjoy?

I’m not sure it’s that weird of a food combination to most people, but I love dipping chips in chocolate milkshakes, but strictly only McDonalds fries and chocolate milkshake. I feel like everyone needs to try it!

We miss Natalie on her days off, and getting to sneakily text her and get to know about her certainly brightened up my Tuesday afternoon! We’ve learnt a lot about Natalie in her almost month with us so far, but we’re sure that every day we’ll learn something new and wonderful that we didn’t know before!
