For the first week of our ‘Meet the Team’, we’re focusing on all things Sophie Woodcock.

Sophie is one of our Directors here at Best in Class, and while she’s been running her own business for almost a year and a half now, she’s been a part of Education Recruitment for over 12 years and has amassed a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

As well as making sure our lights don’t turn off and there’s running water in the office, Sophie is one of our Primary Consultants, alongside Connor and Danny. She’s got some great relationships with schools across Bradford, and she’s got a real eye for matching candidates to job roles.

But Sophie isn’t just known around the office for remembering the name of every Primary Business Development Manager in Bradford, but also for her infectious positivity and huge heart. So rather than introducing you just to Sophie Woodcock of Best in Class, we’re also gonna tell you a little bit about our friend Soph.

Who makes the best cup of tea in the office?

“It’s probably because we’ve known each other the longest and have been making cups of tea for each other for almost 4 years, but it has to be Scott. He leaves the teabag in just the right amount of time, and he adds the perfect amount of milk (Sophie also said I made the worst cup of tea, but as editor I’ve elected to leave that part out)”

What was your dream profession growing up?

“It’ll come as no surprise to anyone who hasn’t been around me when a bassline song comes on, but I really wanted to be a backing dancer to someone famous and spend all my time going on tour and performing”

What is your guilty pleasure?

“I love watching serial killer documentaries on Netflix, they’re my favourite. I would never, ever kill someone but at this point if I did, I think I’d be able to get away with it, that’s how much useless murder-y information I’ve retained”

What is at the very top of your bucket list?

“I would absolutely love to go to New York for Christmas, I’ve wanted to tick this off my bucket list for years. I’ve got my own little mini bucket list for when I’m there (and I will get there), but that’s definitely something I’ve always dreamed of”

If you weren’t working Education Recruitment, what would you be doing?

“I actually nearly joined the police, and would’ve wanted to be high up with the CID. I loved the idea of being like a detective and given all the skills I’ve apparently picked up from Netflix, I think I would’ve been really good at it”

What’s your favourite thing about Best in Class?

“Our team is my favourite thing about Best in Class, everyone brings something new and we’re constantly in stitches making each other laugh and keeping each other entertained. With other people, we could be as successful, but we could never feel as much like a family as we do, without the brilliant people that we have”

What’s your favourite song to dance to?

“This is so tricky because there are so many songs that have me dancing away at my desk, but my favourite would have to be Sixteen Shots by Stefflon Don”

There are plenty more weird and wonderful things we could tell you about Sophie, but we hope that you know her a little bit better than you did before!
